Mr Hirst and the Science Faculty welcomed the local primary feeder schools to the Dearne ALC for a day of independent activity based learning. Pupils were invited to attend the Science Extravaganza event where they enjoyed a series of different workshops, developing many skills across the curriculum. Pupils discovered the science behind bread making with Mr Darby and they participated in an interactive workshop with Mr Brainstorm. Who'd have guessed you can knock a nail in with a banana? Pupils also enjoyed orienteering with the Duke of Edinburgh Lead Mr Belk and competed in a table tennis tournament with Mr Simon.
Pupils from the Dearne and the primary schools alike created a great atmosphere and a thoroughly enjoyable day! We look forward to an even bigger and better event next year.
